My sweet baby boy turned five as of Jan 19th! I can't even believe it. Although so much has happened in the last five years I still can't believe he's getting ready to go to kindergarten next year! It seems like just yesterday I was laying in my hospital bed anticipating his arrival and being overwhelmed with "I feel like I've always known you" as soon as I saw his sweet little face.
This is Oliver just days old napping with Daddy in the sunshine. This picture represents one of our favorite memories as new parents. It makes us giggle and swell with joy every time we reminisce over this one.
Oliver is still very much into pirates, swords, guns, and all things boy basically. One of his favorite places to visit is the beach! He could play all day down on the shoreline getting wet and muddy. He goes to preschool part time and loves it.
He's very smart and does really well, he should be reading by the end of this school year. He's pictured above with his superstar student award. His teacher is amazing and is so good to him!
This sweet boy also has a very silly side. Above he was pretending to be "dead" so that he wouldn't have to leave Nana and Papa's house one Sunday afternoon.
Whenever we're out shopping he finds the silliest most ridiculous things he can, adorns himself in them, and comes up with whatever character his outfit is portraying. I love seeing his creativity and imagination at work!
I took him out for a special "date day" on his birthday which was so.very.special! I never get time completely alone with him and it was so fun to get to know him better and spoil him a bit with lots of love and gifts. Speaking of the gifts he really impressed me! I took him to Target to look at toys and told him that if he found anything he liked we could get it for him. He walks straight into the toy section and picks out something for Carter and something for Harper instead! He's not always that selfless but I was very impressed by him on his special day.
That night we celebrated by having all of my family over for a bbq which Oliver couldn't wait for. His Aunt Kenzie (Tinney) made him special chocolate pirate cupcakes and he got to open gifts. He was a pretty happy little boy.
Oliver you are the sweetest big brother and I am honored to be your mama and to watch you grow up. I am so proud of you and I know you'll do great things. I pray you come to love Jesus more and more and depend on Him in everything you do.
