Our First Camping Trip!

July 5, 2013

We decided to take a spur of the moment camping trip since Kaleb had a four day weekend for the holiday. We had tried to go a couple of different times since we got married and it's just never worked out. Between full campgrounds and cars breaking down we hadn't had the best experiences so far. We stopped at the store to grab food and a few things that we didn't have and packed up the car! The boys were beyond excited!

We took our time driving up the mountain and enjoyed all of the gorgeous views! We seriously live in such a beautiful area! The temp was perfect, probably around 80 which made the night time temps even better!

Within ten minutes of getting to the camp site the boys were THIS ^^ dirty! They were in little boy Heaven, let me tell you!

Thankfully Harper wasn't too mobile at this point, but she did love laying out on the blanket and watching the boys run around.

After exploring a bit by taking a drive down to the very dry creek we headed back and roasted hot dogs for dinner. There is nothing better than a camp fire!

Harp and I enjoyed some gorgeous views from the tent. The flies would attack us if we weren't directly by the fire so the tent was quite luxurious.

Kaleb really enjoyed being out with his boys. They did boy things like hunt down ginormous pine cones and such.

Harper and I enjoyed hanging together even though she really wanted to be able to run around like her brothers. Someday Harp....someday.

Believe it or not camping with three kids 3 and under was not that hard! They were all really well behaved, slept well, and had lots of fun...the college age retards at the next site over on the other hand...loudly drunk, loudly throwing up because they were drunk, and woke up at the buttcrack of dawn the next morning being can you guess? LOUD. I don't know how they stayed up til the wee hours of the morning and were able to wake up early the next morning because I guarantee you they were hung over. Besides that idiotic business the trip was really great and we want to take the kids again soon!

We took our time driving down the mountain the next morning and explored a bit before heading home. We had some nice dirt caked onto the back of the van which is just the way it should be.
