Oliver

My sweet baby boy turned five as of Jan 19th! I can't even believe it. Although so much has happened in the last five years I still can't believe he's getting ready to go to kindergarten next year! It seems like just yesterday I was laying in my hospital bed anticipating his arrival and being overwhelmed with "I feel like I've always known you" as soon as I saw his sweet little face.

This is Oliver just days old napping with Daddy in the sunshine. This picture represents one of our favorite memories as new parents. It makes us giggle and swell with joy every time we reminisce over this one.

Oliver is still very much into pirates, swords, guns, and all things boy basically. One of his favorite places to visit is the beach! He could play all day down on the shoreline getting wet and muddy. He goes to preschool part time and loves it.

He's very smart and does really well, he should be reading by the end of this school year. He's pictured above with his superstar student award. His teacher is amazing and is so good to him!

This sweet boy also has a very silly side. Above he was pretending to be "dead" so that he wouldn't have to leave Nana and Papa's house one Sunday afternoon.

Whenever we're out shopping he finds the silliest most ridiculous things he can, adorns himself in them, and comes up with whatever character his outfit is portraying. I love seeing his creativity and imagination at work!

I took him out for a special "date day" on his birthday which was so.very.special! I never get time completely alone with him and it was so fun to get to know him better and spoil him a bit with lots of love and gifts. Speaking of the gifts he really impressed me! I took him to Target to look at toys and told him that if he found anything he liked we could get it for him. He walks straight into the toy section and picks out something for Carter and something for Harper instead! He's not always that selfless but I was very impressed by him on his special day.

That night we celebrated by having all of my family over for a bbq which Oliver couldn't wait for. His Aunt Kenzie (Tinney) made him special chocolate pirate cupcakes and he got to open gifts. He was a pretty happy little boy.

Oliver you are the sweetest big brother and I am honored to be your mama and to watch you grow up. I am so proud of you and I know you'll do great things. I pray you come to love Jesus more and more and depend on Him in everything you do.

Playing Catch Up

Oh my goodness so much has happened in the last five months! Now that I'm sick and can't do much I have some time to update!

Life has reached an all time level of insanity these days. Since my last update we have listed and sold our condo on our own, moved into my parents house for two and a half months, bought a house, spent every spare moment fixing it up for a month, and moved in to most everything being half done. Two months later it's still all half done (life is insane remember) but we are enjoying the blessing that this house has been so very much!

Within the first week of closing escrow and this house being ours a storm hit and completely took out the tree you see in the picture above. It was a miracle that no damage was done to the house and it even toppled onto our neighbors car leaving minimal damage. It could have been so much worse but we did end up losing the entire tree. Oh well. So grateful that was it.

I started working part time at one of my favorite places! I've been working there for almost three months now and I love it. It's a good little break from staying home with the kids and it gives me a little time to refresh. I work in the evenings most days after Kaleb gets home from work which is a great time that he gets to spend alone with them.

I'll do a post for each Baker baby to give you all a little update. These four are keeping my heart full and my day extra busy! We're also in the midst of "Baker birthday season" seeing that we each have a birthday from December to March (excluding our June baby Sawy). More to come on these sweet little things...

I am very sure that 2015 will bring lots of crazy adventures but I'm not sure anything can top the craziness that the last 6 months of 2014 brought our way!

The First Week of August Highlighted

What better way to kick off the month than with a trip to the spa??

My sister had always wanted the spa day experience so I organized a special little shindig as part of her Bachelorette party!

Later that night we got a bunch of her friends together for dinner and a special little "personal shower"...

We took the boys hiking for the first time in forever and it was super fun (and super hot)...

We found some teepees along the way and the boys were in heaven pretending to be Indians...

Both boys were pretty much filthy from head to toe after, it was perfect...

We took a trip to the salon one afternoon for fresh haircuts for the wedding...

Oliver the photographer now apparently snapped this picture while he was waiting to get his hair cut.

Here we are on our way to the wedding rehearsal...serious business...

The rehearsal was at Firestone Brewery which was delicious and I actually had a glass of wine that was enjoyable...imagine that...

My sister and I on her wedding day!!

Kaleb and I taking a quick break (this was probably the longest I sat down the entire day)...

This dapper little gentleman was quite the well behaved wedding guest. I didn't get any pictures of the other kids in their outfits but the photographer did so I can't wait to see how they turned out!

And the following pictures are just some random snapshots here and there from the rest of the week...

The Fourth Week of July Highlighted {part one}

We call Harper the queen of meal time (she's apparently the only one happy about breakfast)

Size comparison to show just how quickly this boy is growing!

A little more baby watching...

Family walk fun...

Little Mama decided to snatch the sling and try in on herself...

Sweet baby smiles...

Sometimes nap time needs to be spent just like this...

Harper decided to eat the ball instead of the hot dog...

Middle of the night cuddles are the best...

Last year we had the two older boys in the stroller and this year we have two babies instead while the older boys walk...

"Hey, let's take a picture!" "I can't see anything" "me either"

My four favorite little Baker babies...

Theses two are crazy...and cute...

They're way too cool for a picture...

Harper watching her brothers run around like a bunch of crazies...

totally normal...well in our house it is...

Sibling love...

The boys found a weird looking bug and had fun playing with it...

Daddy got Oliver a special root beer. He's still our pirate boy...

Little sleeper...

Snoozin through our walk...
