Weekend Recap

Saturday

We started off our Saturday with a couple of errands. The picture above is of Oliver, he has been insisting on wearing this little getup every time we leave the house. A Burger King crown, goggles, a wooden spoon in one hand and and a foam sword in the other.

We wait patiently in the car while Daddy ran into the bank to take car of business. We watched a movie and chatted a bit. I love that Oliver can carry on a conversation now, they're priceless.

We had an appointment to get the oil changed in our van so we dropped it off and decided to walk over to the mall which was just a couple of blocks away.

On the way their is a Museum of Natural History and they have special guests on the second Saturday of every month. This Saturday they had a woman come from the Las Flores Park and she had a couple of snakes, lizzards, and tarantulas that are local to our area. Yuck! They also had a miniature horse named Bear. He was so very little and cute, the boys loved him!

Bear was shorter than Carter!

I'm pretty sure if we had a backyard this would need to be our pet!

We got to the mall, had lunch at Subway, and stopped at the few shops we love to visit while we're there. As you can see in the picture above most of our store are shut down and the mall is somewhat of a flop when it comes to actual shopping. We always visit the pet store, toy store, and train shop. Occasionally we'll grab coffee and/or a pastry as well.

The boys got to enjoy all of the animals at the pet store including these sweet kittens pictured above. Snakes and tarantulas are also a couple of the boys favorites.

The train store has a great little table full of toy trains that the boys love to get out and play with. We're almost always the only ones in there and the boys really enjoy it.

Oliver playing trains.

Daddy and Carter looking at the model trains chugging around the track.

Before heading out we stopped at the candy shop to get everyone a little treat, the boys got ring pops while Kaleb enjoyed some Hot Tamales and I enjoyed a Milky Way. We snacked on them as we walked back to the car....

Oliver fell asleep with ring pop in hand. Both boys ended up sleeping in the car on the way to the grocery store so we decided to sit and let them sleep. Kaleb fell asleep also so I soaked up some quiet time while all three of them dozed. We got our shopping done and headed home to rest, make dinner, and watch a movie.

Sunday

I can't believe I didn't take one picture the entire day. That hasn't happened in a long time, but the day was busy and it got away from me. We went to church, had lunch at my parents house after, and ran home to look through some paperwork that we needed to get together for the following day. Our church was having a chili cook off/pie contest that night so we grabbed some potato salad and walked over to enjoy good food and fellowship. We attended the evening service and walked home. It was an awesome weekend spent with our little family.
