BUMPdate 14 & 15 weeks

Week 14

First week into the second trimester and I am TIRED....oh, and hungry! It literally hit me the day I started the second trimester all I wanted to do was lay in bed and sleep. It's as if all of my symptoms besides nausea started late this time, bummer. Maybe this means I'll have an energy filled third trimester?? haha I know...sure!

We got to see our sweet baby TWICE this week! I had an appointment with my OB on Tuesday and he did a quick ultrasound to do some measurements and get the heart rate, I did feel bad because I had no idea there would be an ultrasound so Kaleb wasn't there. Thankfully we had another ultrasound scheduled with a specialist for the second part of our genetic screening that Kaleb made sure to attend. We love seeing our sweet baby! I could stare at the screen all day watching the baby kick, wiggle, rub his/her face...I love it all! I was hoping he would tell us the gender but he didn't and I was too afraid to ask :) Oh well, soon enough we'll know! Heart rate was 154 on Tuesday and 143 on Thursday.

15 Weeks

Still tired, still hungry...Unfortunately I started having contractions this week but they haven't been effective in that the baby's not in any danger yet. I went in to be checked and he put me on some medication to stop the contractions, I've only been on them a couple of days so I'm hoping they'll really start to kick in the next day or so. I'm not in any pain, it's just really uncomfortable at this point and it's pretty hard to just lay down and relax while taking care of a 1 and 2 year old. The doctor hasn't put me on any sort of bed rest and I hope it doesn't get to that point. I had early contractions with Carter but I didn't start to dilate until 35-36 weeks and I'm hoping it's the same way this time around. Bed rest would be really, really tough! I would do anything to keep this baby safe and healthy but it would definitely be a major adjustment for us. We're praying for our sweet new baby!

  1. Prayers for you and your baby too! And with a 1 and 2 year old, you're right, best rest does not seem even remotely possible! All will work out how it's supposed to, I imagine.

  4. I will send you positive vibes that contractions stay at a minimum! Best rest with little ones is very difficult.

  6. Aww I love ultrasound pictures. I get to see the baby next week. I'm excited and hope everything goes well. I've been contracting early this pregnancy too but I had the same thing last pregnancy and wasn't dialating. At 39 weeks I was only half a cm.
