October Is Here Already

I can't believe how fast the time goes! October definitely snuck up on me... We have been spending the majority of our time at home which has been really nice because it slows time down just a bit. I'll take all the time I can get with you boys, you're growing up too fast.

Oliver, you have such a funny little personality these days! You are our little pirate. You almost always have your pirate hat, "ching ching", "pew pew", and you're either listening to the pirate song or watching the pirate movie. We are headed to Disneyland at the end of the week and you're pretty excited about it, although I think you probably feel like we're going to forever just be talking about going instead of actually taking you there because you don't understand days yet. Don't worry we're going IN TWO DAYS!! Everyone is so excited to take you! It's your favorite place to visit, and you are already talking about riding the pirate ride. You recently started coming up to me and saying "You're cute mama!" or "You pretty mama!" and it absolutely melts my heart. I'm pretty sure you learned that from Daddy, he's really sweet to Mama.

You are twenty months old, which means you're only four months away from turning two!! That is just crazy to me. I love watching you grow up and learn new things, but I really wish I could keep you a baby for just awhile longer :)

Carter, you are so incredibly cute! You are such a smiley boy, and this week you started doing a cute new smile that just melts everyone's hearts! Mine especially, I almost cry sometimes it's so cute! We've snapped some pictures of you while you're doing it, but they just don't seem to quite capture it.

Nana snapped this really cute picture of you and your Dad while we were in San Luis last weekend. He loves you so much! :)

You like to chew on sippy cups, but you're not quite drinking out of them yet. You'll figure it out soon I'm sure.

You started eating a lot more baby food this week. Some days you like it and gobble it up, but other days you hate it no matter what it is and refuse to eat anything but milk.

You boys are now both sitting up at the dinner table with us now. You guys like sitting next to each other, it's really cute. Carter, you're always trying to get your hands on him or his food. Oliver, you like to say "Oh no!" and lean away if he's trying to touch you, but you smile so we know you really do like it. :) I love being your Mama and spending everyday with you!

Too Many Cute Pictures

Carter, you take so many cute pictures! It's hard to take a bad picture when you're so smiley all the time. I absolutely love it. You get so excited and start wiggling all around which makes for some blurry pictures, but your always smiling! You melt my heart...

Oliver, you insisted on wearing only one shoe around the house all day yesterday along with my green hat and your "ching ching" of course. The pirate song is still your current obsession, I think we listened to it 1,000 more times today, and that was with me limiting the number of times it was played!

You thought it would be funny to fake cry so I had to snap a picture of it. :) We played the "Cars" movie for you for the first time last night and you loved it. You got up first thing this morning and asked me to turn it on for you. "Tow Tow" is your favorite character. 

Carter, you've been crawling all over the living room exploring all of the different toys and you absolutely love when we leave a pair of tennis shoes on the floor. You can't get to them fast enough and you squeal with excitement. Oliver, today the neighbors cat came up to hang out on our patio and you couldn't get enough of her. You sat there pointing and smiling and she would come right up to the glass rubbing her face all over trying to play with you. We love that you enjoy other people's pets! :)

Oh The Joys Of Having Boys

I feel like Oliver has been a ticking time bomb for a major boo boo. Today alone he hit his head really hard at least three separate times. He came out with a huge bump and a couple of bruises. He has been falling all over the place lately, I think he may be growing. Not much of an appetite, very sleepy, and very clumsy. I mean if you offer him a cookie he'll eat it of course, but anything else he will just pick at it, take a couple of bites, and move on. 

Lately he's been putting two to three words together at once and it has got to be the cutest thing ever! Apple juice, baby owl, Kari's house (when we arrived to see Aunt Kari--he loves going over there!), and others that I just can't think of right now. Lately he's been absolutely loving his crib. When he wakes up in the morning or from a nap I'll go in to get him and he sits down every time I try to grab him and just starts playing with his toys or asks me to read him a book. And by read I mean point out all of the cool animals that are in whatever book we're reading. He likes to say what each animal is and make whatever noise that specific animal makes. He makes a really cute noise and does a funny arm thing when he sees an elephant, same with a tiger and lion. 

Recently he has become a lot more social than he has been in the past and I absolutely love it. For example tonight at Aunt Kari's house he was doing things over and over just because everyone in the room would laugh at him. He never used to be that way, he would always be very quiet and serious. This new side of Oliver has been really fun. He has also been enjoying other little kids. Anytime we're in a store and children walk by he gets really excited. We walked over to Kenzie and Beth's school to pick them up and when we strolled through the sea of children he started shrieking with excitement! I have a feeling he's going to love school someday. 

Little Carter boy has been watching his big brother a lot lately. He lays in the middle of the floor and watches Oliver walk all around him and studies his every move. It's really cute to watch. He's also been very talkative and seems to be getting more and more content in his car seat, thank goodness!! He's growing  like a weed. I hold him all day everyday and I am really noticing how heavy he's starting to feel. I mean, compared to his brother he really is a little peanut, but he's definitely growing. The other morning I went in to check on him thinking he was still asleep and was surprised to see him wide awake, happy as a clam, looking around, and making happy noises. As soon as he saw me he started trying to scoot over (on his belly) trying to get to me! It looked like he was going to get up and crawl, craziest thing ever. It was really sweet.
